Baby See, Baby Do

Everyday Kiley makes me a proud Mommy.  She is learning so much so quickly and it just blows my mind how much she knows!

This week I asked Kiley, "Where are your eyes? Nose? Tongue?" She got all of them right! Mind you she thinks that her nose is her lips, but in my book it counts!! She is such an entertainer and I just adore watching her do the things that she does.  Especially this week.

Nanna, Kiley and I went shopping Thursday in Austin.  She slept during the ride up there, during which I always re-fall in love with her - she looks like the perfect little angel during that time! Once we got to the mall she did great! Well, for the most part...Nanna and I have figured out that it's best to plan a shopping trip after Kiley's afternoon nap because she has more tolerance for the stroller and we can actually relax and have some fun looking at everything.  We don't feel rushed and Kiley seems to have more fun! A win-win situation!  Once we looked around and tried on everything we got hungry and Kiley was ready for some of her favorite food - french fries! So, like I said baby see, baby do.  Well, that was exactly what Kiley was doing at the restaurant! We were covering our mouths while laughing and the next thing we see is Kiley doing the same thing! She kept doing it and you could tell that she was so proud of herself! Such a cutie patottie!

We spent the rest of the weekend at the lake, soaking in the rays and Kiley playing with her beach toys at the sand bar.  I'm thinking that the lake is by far one of Kiley's favorite places.  Everytime we drive up and she sees the house she starts clapping! Even if we leave for groceries, when we come back she is clapping, glad to be back home! This week when we got to the house, I got her out of her car seat and she immediately walked over to her life jacket, pointed at it, and screamed "THAT!" She wanted that life jacket on now, because she knew that meant she was going on the boat.  She's got it all figured out!

I thought this was such a funny picture.  This is how Kiley puts chapstick on!

Playing with Zoe's house.

Kiley's cute little wrinkled toes.

Jason wakeboarding and doing some tricks.  Did he land it? You will have to ask him!

Labor day weekend coming up next week, but until then Gig'em & God Bless!!

Chatterbox

Our little one is 15 months old now and definitely very independent and well, stubborn.  I wish I could say that she gets the stubborn qualities from her Dada, but I have to admit she gets them from BOTH of us.  Turning 15 months also means that she had an appointment for the doctor again.  She is starting to catch on to what is going to happen when she visits the doctor and it definitely is not a good thing! She got 3 shots, which she put up a pretty good fight - the stubborn quality again.  She also weighed 22 pounds and was 29" long.  The next day we left for the lake.  Kiley gets so excited everytime we drive up to the lake house.  She starts clapping and cheering, it really is so darn cute! She insists now that everytime we go for a boat ride that she must have her life jacket on before she gets in the boat, which is great for us because she wants to wear it.  That weekend the Masek's came up for the weekend.  We had a blast and Kiley loved being able to spend time with her buddies - Trey, Alex, and Jordan.

Kiley's dog, Zoe in her house.  Kiley loves that little dog! Kiley struting her stuff in her bathing suit from GiGi.  I absolutely adore this bathing suit on her.  It shows off her old man belly perfectly!

Pops, lets drive this way!
No Pops, over there!

This past week Kiley has made a couple of changes.  We are now officially a chatterbox! What she is saying Mama doesn't have a clue most of the time, but it is nonstop! From the minute she wakes up to the minute she goes to sleep she is talking about something to someone and sometimes even to herself! It's gotten to the point that I can not even have a conversation with anyone because she is screaming (the other change) and talking over me! Funny and hopefully a phase...fingers crossed!

This past weekend we went up to the lake and spent some family time with Jason's Aunt and Uncle, Bitsy and Lynn.  On Saturday we hung out on the lake most of the day soaking up the sun.  We anchored at the Sand Bar, Kiley's favorite spot, and Kiley played with her sand toys and swam in the water.  She is getting so comfortable in the water - enough so that she even stood in the tube and played in there while the adults talked! Sunday afternoon Lynn and Bitsy left, but not without Kiley's sloppy kisses!

Sporting Mommy's sunglasses!

On the ride home from the lake.  She has a a new snack now that she loves - grapes!

Playing in the living room this Monday.  Everytime she is in her toy box the first thing she grabs is her pearls and her purse.  This was also the day that she wouldn't stop screaming! I think I am on the path to having a headache everyday until we grow out of this phase...

Thanks for reading! Until next time, Gig'em & God Bless!!

More Lake Adventures!

The past weekend brought more adventures at the lake for Kiley and our 5 year anniversary.  Jason planned a surprise supper in Austin for us at a Brazilian Steakhouse and then a movie afterward.  It was a great date/event and I enjoyed every minute I had with the love of my life.

On Saturday, some friends of ours and their kids came to the lake for some tubing, water sports, and eating.  Kiley loved having the kids there! Mackenzie is 6 and Hayden is 10.  She seemed to be more comfortable to go out of her comfort zone and do things the kids were doing.  It was a lot of fun to see Kiley play with the kids at the sand bar and swim and dance in the lake.  When it was time for them to go Sunday Kiley couldn't have been more upset to see them leave!

Missing Miss Kiley

The last time I left Kiley for a couple of days was in October 2010 for a little extended weekend trip to Vegas with my parents.  She was 5 months old and I was still in shock that we had a little one, permanently! Daddy stayed with her and they had some great bonding time.  This Thursday though was a little different for all of us.  I was leaving for Amarillo ready for a "break", Jason was in a wedding that weekend in Waco and was leaving Friday, and well Kiley, she was a totally different baby then last time, bursting with personality, 14 month old looking for trouble! While Mommy and Daddy were going to be gone, Nanna and Pops were going to be watching Kiley.  I knew she would have fun and she of course did!

I went to Amarillo to go to December's baby shower and meet and see her family and friends.  It went great and flew by.  Most importantly I had fun with my Dee and getting to see what she calls home now! I missed my baby so much though and couldn't wait to get a huge hug and kiss from her, which I received the minute I walked through the door! Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

The famous Cadillac Ranch or as me and Dee say, "The place with the cars in the dirt." : )

Sitting in the HUGE rocking chair at The Big Texan.

About to dig in!

Love this picture with December!

The picture I received from Nanna while they were visiting at Nana and Papa's Saturday.  I thought it was sooo sweet, but she is giving away my hugs! One thing about it, Kiley has always been very loveable!

This weekend we are staying at the lake again with a couple of friends.  Should be a lot of fun in the sun! Until next time, Gig'em & God Bless!
