Just Hanging Out!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!  It is hard to believe that this Father's Day was Jason and Kiley's 2nd Father's Day together! I was looking at the pictures of Kiley from her last Father's Day and boy does a year change a lot! One year ago she just layed there, being that she was only 1 month old and at that time she didn't give us an attitude if we put sunglasses on her! I would post a picture, but I don't have any pictures saved on this computer from birth to 6 months.

Father's Day was nice and relaxing though.  We spent it at my Nana and Papa's and were back after supper.  We decided that we would go for a walk and ended up stopping at Jason's Grandma and Grandpa's where Kiley showed off how great she can walk! She also demonstrated all day that she loves food.  At Nana and Papa's she got homemade banana ice cream (YUMMO!), 1/2 of a banana, 2 peach kolaches, and a sugar cookie - that also doesn't include her milk bottles and solids she gets regularly in her schedule, all of which she ate! Then when we got to Grandma and Grandpa's she finished her night bottle and had ice cream again to end the day! I'm thinking that she definitely LOVES sweets!

Taking control of the wheel!!

This week I took a lot of pictures of Kiley - most of which involve her eating something! If you are on facebook you probably have already seen these, but I thought I would still share.

Here we were at JW's and Kiley felt that she needed to feed herself.  Before the roll she had already eaten 3 cracker packages and her cheerios along with some of my corn.  Apparently, she was still hungry, because she ate the whole roll too!  Looks like someone is growing..

So Monday night I was combing Kiley's hair after a bath and decided to see if I could put her hair in a ponytail.  Sure enough, it worked! So on Tuesday Kiley sported her ponytail for the first time! She was so proud of it and Mommy kept telling her that she was sooo pretty! Now that Kiley's hair is growing I am starting to enjoy fixing her up everyday with a new hair style!

She loved me telling her that she was a pretty girl! I'm sure you noticed the cheerios on her tray.  I have learned that the only way I can get her hair looking pretty is by feeding her little tummy! She will let me do anything as long she has food!

This is a funny and yet scary picture that Daddy took of Kiley on Thursday! During the summer Alex and Jordan (my cousins) are watching Kiley and they have the magic touch to get her to take a nap during the day.  Why she will take a nap with them and not me is very confusing to me, but anyways, after one of her naps with Alex this is what she looked like! She is yawning in the picture, but she had a 2 hour nap that day so, she was well rested just not completely awake yet.

Today, Kiley and I hung out at the house and had some Mommy, daughter time.  Spending the day with her has really made me realize that she is becoming her own person and has such a loving and outgoing personality! She is always making me laugh and when you least expect it she will come and give you a huge hug and kiss.  Love her so much!

So instead of the ponytail today we tried pigtails! Daddy said that the pigtail look was his favorite! I agree.  She looks so cute and all grown up, but I'm still trying to figure out if that is a good thing or not.  We also tried marshmallows for the first time today and as you can see from the picture, they were a big hit! She even decided to save one for a later snack!

I quickly snapped this picture.  This was during one of those times where she unexpedetly walked up to me to give me a big hug! Miss Loveable!

So many things are going on for Kiley right now! She is walking everywhere, which makes her happy, because she is and always has been Miss Independent! She is also always talking - some things we understand and others we don't! Like I said, she loves food and whenever we eat out and our food comes out she gets soooo excited! The other day I got out her cheetos at the restaurant and she was so excited she couldn't stop pointing and saying "that!"  It was clear that she wanted her snack and by the time she calmed down she had said "that" about 8 times! Her "attitude" is also beginning to develop.  She hasn't said the word "no" yet -thank goodness, but we have learned the word "stop." The doggies love her cheerios and are constantly trying to get the fallen few from Kiley.  She in return looks at them, points her finger and tells them "Stop!." They don't listen, but it sure is cute!

Fourth of July is coming up next week and with that a lot of pictures! Until then though, Gig'em & God Bless!!

Our little bathing beauty!

This past weekend while at the lake, Mom and I went to Marble Falls to go check out the shops downtown.  Little did we know that we would find THE cutest little bikini ever! I couldn't contain myself and took a ton of shots with her in her new little outfit! Such a bathing beauty!

One of Kiley's new accomplishments that she has learned this past week from watching Baby Einstein, Peek-A-Boo.  We don't put our hands over our eyes, but on the side of the face - close enough for Mommy and baby!

Playing peek-a-boo with Nanna and still hanging out in her bathing suit!

Everytime a boat or jet ski would ride past the house she would wave or blow kisses like she is doing here.  I think I am mostly in love with this swimming suit because of the way it shows off her adorable baby belly! You don't even know that her belly is that round under her shirt...it's so cute though!

So, if you haven't noticed yet you will notice it here in this picture - Kiley fell numerous times this past weekend and she fell on her face everytime! For some reason she was so off balance and looked as if she was baby drunk all weekend! The first day she fell while trying to walk out on the patio and got a scab on her chin in return.  The next day she fell while walking around on the patio again.  She lost her balance and her face landed on the patio furniture base hitting her forehead, her lip, and having a slightly bloody nose.  So, by the time we got home it looked as if we abused our child.  Good thing that now we have our more stable baby back.

Later one evening, we went out on the water while it was calm and Jason and I gave water skiing a shot, again.  Kiley is beginning to really love and enjoy the boat rides now.  She loves seeing us out on the water and is constantly telling us hi! After several tries and trying to not get frustrated we both were able to get up and water ski for a little bit.  An awesome accomplishment and it was a great feeling to even see Kiley get excited for us!

Father's Day seems to be sneaking up on us quickly...this will be Daddy's 2nd Father's Day with his baby girl, but until then God Bless & Gig 'em!

And She's Off...

So, it has been a couple of weeks since I have written a post.  Since that time a lot of things of happened for Kiley.  First things first, we are walking now! I think it is the cutest thing I have ever seen her do.  I know last time I wrote a post I said she had taken a couple of steps in Maui.  Shortly after that, she had taken 16 steps and on May 28, while I was in Fredericksburg for Bethany's Bachelorette party I had received several texts from Jason saying that she wouldn't slow down and wanted to walk around everywhere! Of course Mommy missed the big day - I had a feeling that it would happen that way! It's pretty hilarious watching her walk.  She looks like a little chicken or duck.  Instead of putting her arms straight out for balance she bends them towards her stomach like they are her wings.  I started quacking one day while she was walking around and she thought that was the funniest thing - little did she know that I was talking about her! So, now that we have learned that we can walk, we also try to practice our new talent everywhere! And I do mean everywhere.  Don't put her in a shopping cart or carry her around a store - she is Miss Independent now and thinks that she has to show everyone that she can get around on her own.  Another thing we have picked up is taking everyone on what Mommy likes to call, "Kiley Tours."  During the Kiley Tour you must NOT let go of her finger or she has a fit and did I mention that the tours last a really long time and always at the most inconvenient times? But, we all go along with it because if Kiley is happy everyone is happy!

Nanna taking a Kiley Tour!

On May 24 I took Kiley to get her first haircut.  Her hair wasn't extremely long or anything, but it was definitely not even and I wanted to get it shaped up for Beth's wedding.  I was nervous about her staying still, but it turned out that I had nothing to worry about! She did great - the hairdresser gave her a lollipop for a great and clever distraction! Now 3 weeks later her hair has grown so much so quickly!

Before

After!

For Bethany's wedding December flew down again and stayed with us for a week.  We enjoyed our time with her, and no matter how long she stays it always seems to fly by!  On June 2 it was time for Kiley to go back to the doctor for a well check appointment and shots.  I wasn't sure how it would go this time since the last time she got shots she was only 6 months old.  She has definitely changed since then and has a lot more "attitude."  She weighed in at 19lbs, 15oz. and was 28 1/2" long.  I know she's a petite girl! The doctor said that she was in the 25 percentile for both, but had no concern because she is right on track with everything else! He said she was a healthy little one and looked great! She was a good girl and got 3 shots.  Mommy had to try to hold her down, but she only cried for a second and once I picked her up she was over it and back to the smiling little girl I know! Mommy was relieved for that day to be over!

June 4 was Bethany and Abel's wedding.  It went great and looked beautiful! Bethany was a gorgeous bride, of course.  We all had such a fun time and our so happy for them! We love you guys!

I finally remembered to put Kiley's DVD's in my car so, when she gets fussy I could just put a DVD in that would entertain her until we got home.  Well, last week I purchased the dance along Baby Einstein movie and I'm glad I did! Kiley has learned so much from it just from watching it 2 times! She now does Peek-A-Boo by putting her hands on the side of her face - not over her eyes, but the way she does it is cuter anyways! She gets so excited to see those little babies on that movie dancing and doing the things that she can do now! It is so cute to watch her shriek with such excitement! We can now blow kisses, which consists of her putting her hand over her mouth.  We love to throw the ball back and forth and she is starting to expand her vocabulary.

Every day our baby changes and learns something new - it's amazing to watch her! This week also marked Kiley's 13 month birthday..time really does fly! Until next time, Gig' em & God Bless!

Aloha from Maui!

After Kiley's birthday we went on vacation with my parents to Maui, Hawaii.  This was Kiley's first time to fly and Mommy was pretty anxious.  I wanted her to be a good girl.  We were going to be gone for over a week and it took about 3 days to make sure we had everything organized and packed for the getaway.  I know I have said this before, but gosh it is sooo much easier to go somewhere without a baby.  You can not even begin to understand that statement until you are packing for your own child.  It is just crazy to me to think of all of the stuff Kiley needs - clothes, food, milk, diapers, toys, etc., etc., etc...

The flight to Maui is 8 hours and being that this was Kiley's first flight I had no idea how she would feel or react.  Turns out, I had no reason to be worried at all.  Our baby slept 5 of the 8 hours going and 6 of the 8 returning.  Going there she either played with her toys on the floor, slept, watched a movie, or ate and returning we took a red eye so she was tired by then and slept through most of the flight.  We were really proud of her! and all the other passengers were pretty relieved that she was good too and didn't cry once!

Kiley's new favorite bear, LuLu!

Kiley is overall a "go with the flow" happy baby, but in Maui she was such a sweet and joyous baby to be around.  She loved it over there because we spent the majority of the day outside, everyday.  She was not a fan of the ocean however! I think it was the crashing of the waves that was too loud for her.  As long as we stayed away from the water and in the sand she was content, just don't get her too close or she would start crying!  We got her some beach toys while we were there and she loved playing with those in the sand and at the pool.  In fact, Kiley loved the sand so much that Dada has decided to build Kiley a sand box for the backyard - what a sweet Daddy!

The pool where we stayed had a place that was only 6 inches deep and Kiley loved that! She could crawl and walk around all she wanted and still stay cool.  Speaking of walking we did take a few more steps while in Maui - 8 to be exact, but haven't taken any more than that since! We also decided to FINALLY say Mama! Did I say finally? I mean come on, it's about time! Needless to say, that made my vacation perfect! : )

Kiley made a friend at the pool - and Daddy forgot to take her diaper off!

She also learned where her belly button was and decided that she wanted to see everyone elses while we were there too.  At unexpected times she would reach for your shirt and sneak a peek! She loved the fact that we were always eating outside and birds were always in sight for her to look at..everytime we were eating she would spot a bird, point and say, "A Dah!" Music is always playing wherever you go so Kiley put on a lot of dancing performances for us.  She started a new dance where she holds her hands together and moves from side to side while singing.  We like to call it her Hula Dance!

Whether we were shopping, eating, or just plain relaxing on the beach Kiley had a blast! If it were up to me we would still be there, but it's back to reality! We are so blessed that we were able to go on such a wonderful trip with my parents and are already looking forward to heading back again in a couple of years! Eventhough, I know that Kiley won't remember anything about the trip, we took about 400 pictures to try to jog her memory when she's older : ) and took plenty of videos!

This upcoming week is going to be crazy busy - like I said, "back to reality."  Oh to only be staring into the sunset again without a thing to do..until next week though Gig em' & God Bless!

A 2 for 1 Holiday!

For us May 8 was a 2 for 1 holiday.  Not only was it my 2nd Mother's Day (Kiley was born the day before Mother's Day last year), but it was also our beautiful baby girl's 1st Birthday! For the special occasion we had both of my grandparents and my parents coming to the house for lunch and visiting.  We decided that we were going to remember this special day by video recording us waking her up.  The minute we come into the room she pops up from laying down and stands by the crib railing.  Jason and I tell her "Happy Birthday" and she gives us the biggest smile that I have probably ever seen.  I'm pretty sure she somehow knew that it was a special day! She started clapping for herself and was so excited.  It was the cutest response we could have asked for!

The rest of the morning was spent getting ready for company and putting Kiley's special birthday outfit on.  I had a cake ready for her that I made the previous day and knew I wanted to take a ton of pictures and videos on this special day of hers.

To make the day even more emotional, Kiley decides to take her first two steps on her own that day! Jason and I were in complete shock.  She didn't do it again that day of course, but we kept trying to see it again, and no I didn't get that on video!

After lunch she opened gifts, took a nap, and then it was cake time! She got her own angel food cake slice and loved all the attention.  Then I rounded everyone outside for pictures.  She had a blast and ended the day with our gift to her - a charm bracelet that we are hoping to add to on special occassions.

In her birthday outfit!

She wouldn't look at the camera - too distracted with all the attention!
