Dance Baby Dance!

This past week with Kiley went awesome! She is such a blast to be with.  Most of the time we are happy (we all have our bad days and sometimes it's just bad hours).  Everything that is said or done is so funny to Kiley and we love to babble...Mama is trying to get Kiley to say Mama now, but our litte one is stubborn.  So, her new game is when Mama says, "mama" Kiley says, "dada".  She thinks it's funny and I think it is just predictable! It is amazing though to hear our babies voice.  This may sound odd, but I think it fits her...

On Saturday, we went to Conroe to go pick up the new boat for the lake.  Before we took the new addition home, we were able to test it out on Lake Conroe.  We were pretty excited because this was going to be Kiley's first ride on a boat! I was pretty anxious to see how she would do.  Turns out that we all loved it! Kiley slept for most of the ride and well we were happy because she did sleep! It was a win-win situation!

Earlier this week, Nanna was keeping Kiley and ended up teaching her how to "Dancy."  She looks so cute doing it and it is our new favorite thing! Her's a video of her dancing at the restaurant Saturday night. Dance Baby Dance!

Today, Sunday, we went to my Nana and Papa's (my mom's parents).  We spent the day there and Kiley played for hours and hours.  We had such fun and she loved that she got to crawl wherever she wanted too! We are becoming so independent.  It's sad, but we knew it would happen soon!

Picture time before we left for church!

Ready to explore...Thanks for visiting and until next week Gig em' & God Bless!

And She's Off...

You may not be able to view the video due to your settings/capabilities on your computer.  The video is of Kiley crawling around our living room and then waving.

This is the B-I-G story for this week! We are now waving HI and crawling around like it's nobody's business! Just when Mama and Dada thought we were getting this baby thing down our little one decides to become mobile...I never thought it would make things SO challenging.  Just a simple task of taking a bath requires 4 hands! She tries to stand on her knees, or crawl out of her bath, or suck on the wash cloth that we are trying to clean her with! Then when you think you have things under control, because she is finally done with her bath she starts trying to crawl when I'm trying to put her PJ's on!! Oh goodness...what a little diva we have.

We are also beginning to talk a lot more now.  Kiley calls everyone and everything Dada.  Mama is not so happy about this accomplishment.  Kiley isn't it Mama that gets you up in the mornings and spends ALL day with you? Yes, I know Dada is working and it's easier to say Dada, but couldn't you have just given me a little satisfaction by saying Mama first? Oh well, at least Dada wasn't your very first word...uh oh was! Don't worry I still love you with all my heart and Daddy too!

For weeks we practiced with Kiley on waving Bye-Bye or Hi.  Everytime we leave the room we would wave hoping she would get a hang of it.  Thursday just happened to be the day when our little one decided that she was going to shock us all and wave back! Nanna and I were waving at her and Daddy while I was trying to take a picture (which didn't turn out) when our little baby girl waved! I looked at Nanna and said "Did you see that?" She replies, "Yes, sure did! She's waving!" We couldn't believe our eyes...now we are doing this all the time! It's Kiley's new accomplishment that she loves to do.  For example, today I was showing her pictures of herself...what does she do in response? Shreak with delight and wave! She did the same thing when I showed her the video you just watched.  She heard us saying Hi on the video and saw herself waving so naturally, she starts waving back! Such a cutie...

Kiley helping her Mama with the clothes..hangers make great teething toys too!

This past week went great, looking forward to what Kiley will have in store for us this week, but until then, God Bless & Gig' Em!!

Splish Splash Kiley was taking a bath!

On Saturday our little girl turned 8 months old, as you all probably already know from the pictures I posted earlier this week.  It is so hard for me to believe that it has been 8 months.  Yes, she's getting older and that makes me sad, but at the same time I feel like she has always been a part of our lives.  She makes us a complete family.  Everyday is an adventure with Kiley and she brings such joy to our lives.

Saturday morning, Kiley woke up around 6:30 a.m., early for our Kiley.  I got myself up, more like dragged myself out of bed, and got ready for the morning.  When I went into the room, Kiley was smiling like always and giggling at something (she laughs at the littlest things, it is so cute).  We had our bottle and then Mommy had to come up with something to do to kill some morning time.  So, I decided that it was time for Kiley to take her first "Splish Splash Bath." What's that you ask? Well, before Saturday we didn't sit in water in our baby tub to take a bath.  Instead we sat on top where there is a sling for newborns.  It is a lot easier for Mommy and Daddy to give a bath this way, but the splish splash way is a lot more fun for Kiley.

At first we weren't sure what to do!

Mommy showed Kiley how to splash in the water and how to play with her fun bath toys! Now we are getting a hang of it!!

...And the fun has began! Water is everywhere, but we are having a blast!

So, 40 minutes later Kiley is still wanting to play in her tub...at least now Mommy knows that Kiley REALLY enjoys the water! Mommy loved the idea afterall, because once Kiley was done splashing in the water, dressed, and had her juice she decided to take a nap.  Not just any nap - 1 1/2 hours! These splish splash baths might just be a daily thing!  If only I had time...Gig em' & God Bless!

2-4-6...8 Months!

I really wanted to do something different for Kiley's 8 month birthday.  Yesterday, I called up Nanna and asked her if she wanted to go to Austin with us.  We were going to do professional pictures at a place called Picture People.  We picked out some outfits and off we went.  Kiley slept on the way which was great because I knew she would be in a good mood for her pictures.

Kiley did great! She smiled the whole time and I am in love with the pictures!! Kiley loves them too! She kept shreaking in excitement everytime she saw herself on the screen...

We have been practicing crawling all week.  We finally did it last night! It was in slow motion, but she went forward instead of backward.  Mommy and Daddy were so proud of her...looks like we are going to have our hands full now with her moving around now!

Mommy and Daddy's favorite shot.

Last night I was putting some of the pictures in frames around the house.  It is hard to believe how much are baby girl has changed.  She doesn't hardly look the same...still beautiful, but a lot chubbier and full of expressions.  Now with crawling started all I can say is...Watch out world here she comes! More stories to come on Sunday, but for now Gig em' & God Bless!

What a Year!

The year is almost over, but for us 2010 brought us a miracle from above and many many joys and memories.  Kiley is our little angel and I know my PaPa is her guardian angel.  I've been thinking about him lately and especially with the holidays you can't help but miss his presence.

For Christmas, we were surrounded with love from friends and family.  Yes, it was tiring, and I am relieved that it is over, but it really was a great experience getting to see what Kiley sees for the first time.  The excitement she feels when she just sees a present.  To quote Kiley, "AHHH." We don't even care about the toy, just the beautiful paper and bows! Such a simple thing that can bring such a beautiful smile to our daughter!

Every month is something new, all her firsts are passing by, but we can always cherish the memories.  Thank you God for such a wonderful year and I know what you have in store for us in 2011 will be even better! Everything I do now is better, because Kiley is here to share it with us!

I've uploaded a ton of pictures so this is a long one, but I couldn't just choose a few when this is Miss Kiley's first Christmas! Besides she decided to go all out everyday and wear her special Christmas clothes.  She said that you better take notice of them!   I also figured it would be easier to tell about our Christmas days with pictures.

Santa decided to show up early this year for Kiley's first Christmas.  I figured he had to be overloaded this year and knowing that Kiley would still be a good girl for one more day, he gave her the presents ahead of time!

Kiley was dressed up and ready for Santa's presents!

Everything Santa gave Kiley for Christmas! Wow you must have been a VERY good girl!! To quote my Dad/Pops, "That Santa!"

December 24, 2010
Kiley got up super early for Christmas Eve, she had to take her first family pictures with Mama and Dada for Christmas.  Ok, so this was pretty tricky to say the least.  We had the camera on timer and when Dada was standing at the camera setting the timer Kiley would smile SO big! But, the minute he runs over by our sides she would get distracted.  20 tries later (ok maybe a little exaggeration) we get the photo! YEA! Notice how Dada is holding her now...that's because I set the timer and ran over there and then she decided to actually smile. Not exactly looking at the camera, but who cares!

Mama loves this photo! She is in her special Christmas dress at her Nana and Papa's! Makes you want to squeeze those cheeks doesn't it?

 December 25, 2010
Dada worked this day for the Bryan Fire Department.  So, Mama had Christmas at the house with Nanna, Pops, and Gigi and later that evening we went to go see Dada.  Before we left to go see Dada, I prayed she would sleep and that once we got there he wouldn't get called out.  Lucky for us, she slept on the way there and all the way home and no call what so ever while visiting Dada!  Eventhough Jason had to work that day, he got to see his baby girl and that I was happy about and I'm pretty sure they both enjoyed it as well.  Kiley can be a Daddy's girl sometimes...especially when he has been gone all day.

Christmas at Nanna and Pops' house! We played, made steaks on the pit, and took family pictures.  Enjoyed every minute of it! Always do!

Don't blow this picture up! LOL We have the infamous runny nose problem and Mama didn't know!

I had to end with this last picture! Just goes to show that yes, Kiley does have an attitude...just like her Daddy!

Thank you to everyone for the presents! We enjoyed every minute spent with our little one during Christmas.  We hope that your Christmas was filled with as much joy as ours! God Bless, Gig em', & Happy New Year!

Kiley's Been a Good Girl...

Well, Christmas began for Kiley last week starting with Saturday.  We spent the evening at Jason's Mommo's opening presents and spending time with family.  Kiley received lots of gifts, we were thankful for all of them, but Kiley especially liked the bows and wrapping paper that came along with the gifts.  I think I have previously mentioned that the best toys are the simple and cheap ones that are not suppose to be toys at all.  Kiley enjoyed all the younger cousins there.  They played with her and she had a lot of playmates.  Mommy and Daddy got a little break from entertaining which is always a plus! The part Kiley didn't like? Santa.  He showed up with toys in bag and when it was Kiley's turn to sit on his lap, she got upset pretty quickly! Daddy saved the day and just held her instead. We did receive the pictures of Kiley sitting on Santa's lap curtosey of KB Photography, but I still haven't gotten a chance to scan them into the computer.  Promise I will put them up!

On Monday, Kiley's friend came over for a visit and to open up their gifts that they gave each other.  Kanzie is 2 weeks younger than Kiley and they had a blast playing with their toys on the floor.  It was so cute to see them putting everything in their mouths, pulling on each others socks (yes, socks), and chewing on spoons! LOL We (the parents) had a blast watching them and catching up on what the girls were doing new these days.  Once they opened up their gifts, the girls were tired and Kanzie, Ricky, and Kara headed home.  But, not before the girls gave each other kisses and hugs! I included pictures..the first one is of Kiley opening one of her gifts from Kanzie and the second one is of Kanzie opening her gift from Kiley.  Such cuties!

After all the Christmas action Kiley was pooped! So tired in fact we fell asleep drinking our bottle...

Fortunately for us, Kiley is now feeling a lot better than she did last week.  Darn allergies.  Mommy couldn't be more relieved that she will be happy and feeling great for the festivities!  More Christmas stories and pictures to come! Until then, Merry Christmas, God Bless & Gig'em!!

Over the Hump..

It's hard for me to believe that Kiley is 7 months old. I think I go through this every month when it's her "birthday." It just amazes me how time seems to fly by with an infant. I always have this feeling that I'm going to miss something. I am with her pretty much ALL day yet, I feel like she is slipping away from me, she just keeps growing like a little weed everyday. In the mornings I look forward to seeing her smiling face, full of giggles, and soooo ticklish! Why does that have to stop? But for now our little baby girl is only 7 months old, she's "over the hump" of being half way to one and all I can do now is take many many pictures (800 or so at this point) and take many many videos and most importantly cherish every moment of her innocent life. We've changed many diapers at this point, washed a lot of clothes, and gone through a whole heck of a lot of formula! Everything she does now is a memory for me and I want to make sure that we (Dada and I) don't miss a thing.

On a happier note! I got this crazy idea to do something different for Kiley's pictures this month. Before Kiley was born I began to decorate her room and somehow or another the theme of giraffes was created. Her stuffed toys are giraffes, blankets have giraffes on them, you get the picture. Well, when Jason and I went to St. Joseph to check out the rooms we stopped by the gift shop as well. What was the first thing that caught our eye? A huge giraffe almost as tall as me! We knew we had to get it, but wanted to wait until Kiley was born. Fast forward to May 9, Kiley was here and Pops (my dad) walks in with Jeffrey a.k.a. the huge giraffe! We were ecstatic and come to find out Kiley has a thing for giraffes too. Seems like everytime we go somewhere where there might be a stuffed giraffe or a picture of one it catches her attention and she squeals with delight! So, back to my point of this long drawn out story, Jeffrey went on an excursion to our front yard this week to take pictures with Miss Kiley! It went great! Kind of embarrassing for me (even though it was my idea, I prayed no one I knew would drive by), but definitely fun and memorable!

If you look closely you can see her little tooth coming (by the way that's her second tooth coming in now).

Kiley is going to have her first Christmas experience this weekend at Mommo's (Jason's grandma Siegmund's house).  Should be an interesting experience for her...but until then, Gig'em & God Bless!
