My Sunshine..

When I was younger my Mom always sang the song, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are gray.." She sang this song to me and then with me once I was older.  I now completely understand this song.  Kiley is my sunshine, she's our sunshine.  Sweet, loving, and always happy our little baby will and can always brighten our day! It's like an adrenaline rush to see her in the mornings and spend time with her! This past week went great Kiley had a blast and she was in such a great mood! She is so silly and Jason and I just love being able to be a part of her little moments.

So, on Friday we went to the lake with my parents and my cousins, Alex and Jordan were able to come along.  We and Kiley had a blast! We went tubing and skiing and just soaked in the rays.  You can really tell that Kiley is becoming very comfortable with the boat and she gets so excited when she sees her life jacket.  She definitely understands that when she puts that on that we are going out on the water. She is really starting to understand alot - when she is finished with her bottle she says "Done!" and when we tell her that it's time to take a bath, she starts walking to our bathroom and putting toys in the tub! If we yell at Zoe to tell her to stop doing something Kiley joins right on in and starts yelling something at her too - it's baby talk so I have no clue what she is saying! but you can tell that she definitely means it! Anyways, everyone had a lot of fun and we were so glad that Alex and Jordan were able to come and have fun on the lake with us.

At the sandbar.  Kiley likes to sit on the back of the boat to cool off!

Kiley swimming and putting her face in the water.  If you tell Kiley to put her face in the water, she does.  It's one of her favorite things to do! She always comes up from the water with a big smile on her face, so proud of herself!

On Saturday we went to my cousin Megan's wedding.  Kiley had so much fun dancing.  We have now started to twirl when we dance.  Everytime we set her down at the wedding she immediately went to the dance floor to show off her new moves and she loved being center of attention!

I curled Kiley's hair for the wedding.  With patience and marshmallows she did great!

Kiley with her buddies/cousins, Alex and Jordan.  She just loves them so much!

Kiley made a new friend at the wedding, Natalie.  Everytime they saw each other they hugged!

You can see the excitement on her face.  Here she was dancing the night away...

Sunday at a restaurant for supper.  She knows how to pose for the camera!

Hoping to go to the lake again this weekend so until then, Gig'em & God Bless!

Baby Book Nerd.

This past week Kiley celebrated her 14 month birthday.  At 14 months our little baby is becoming a young little girl.  She is walking around now like nobody's business.  Struting her stuff through all the stores and restaurants.  She is talking like crazy and a new trend for her? BOOKS.  She is absolutely crazy about her books.  We keep her books on her book shelf which is right above her dresser.  The first thing she wants to see and play with in the mornings is her books.   Not just one book at a time, but all her books spread out on the floor for her to look at and "read." The cute thing about it, that always makes me smile, is that she is pointing at everything and talking like she is reading the book.  Her books go with us everywhere - the mall, the car, church.  Some children have blankets as their security, Kiley has her books! Now, don't get me wrong I don't think this is a bad thing at all.  In fact I think it's great, but she now has the nickname of "book nerd." I've decided that I definitely need to go buy her some more books and I added to her collection today with an ABC Elmo book that actually talks.  The reaction on her face when that book started to talk was priceless.  She was both excited and scared.  : ) So, the day starts with books for Kiley now and of course, the day also ends with us putting up the books.

She is also 100% becoming a mini Mommy.  She is one of the most loving babies I have ever been around.  Always giving everyone kisses and hugs.  She loves to share her toys and carries her baby dolls around everywhere.  As you all know she loves dogs or "A Dah!" as she calls them.  One morning this week she did one of the sweetest acts I have ever seen her do with Zoe, our dog.  She was eating cheerios in her bumbo chair on top of the countertop when she saw Zoe.  She of course gets so excited and decides that she wanted to share her cheerios with Zoe.  I picked Zoe up and she handed her a cheerio and gave her one of the biggest and most loving hugs and then a kiss! Eventhough Kiley is only 14 months old she can teach people so much.  There is no hatred in that big heart of hers, it's just all love!

In the picture, I found her sleeping like this one night.  So sweet and such a Mommy!

On Sunday, we washed our cars while Kiley played in the garage.  Even though it was hot she had a blast! and even tried to help Daddy out a couple of times!

Later Sunday, we went to Caldwell to have a play date with Wednesday and Dusty and their two cute, sweet boys.  We went to the Caldwell park to go cool off and Kiley wasn't too sure about the water popping out of the ground like that.  We took her over to it a couple of times, but in the end she just decided that she would rather just hang back with the adults and watch Kyson and Krush run around in the water.  I think after a couple of more visits we will start to get comfortable.  Keeping our fingers crossed!

And finally an explanation for this priceless face! Kiley decided that she wanted to try a lemon.  She wouldn't stop screaming/protesting until she had that lemon! So, Nanna let her taste it...this was the result! You would think that this face also meant that she didn't want anymore, right? Wrong.  She took another bite and pretty much had the same face afterwards. Got to love her! Until next time, Gig'em & God Bless!

Red, White, and Blue!

This weekend we spent 4th of July at the lake! Kiley had a blast hanging out outside swimming and going boat riding!

To our surprise on Sunday Kiley got out into the lake water and had a blast! It was mostly her idea which is why I think she didn't get upset.  She loves the water, but at first she feels overwhelmed and needs time to get use to it.  This time she was happy to get into the water with Daddy and Mommy and of course she had to be having some type of food so, cheerios were in hand as well!  She did some swimming and the rest of the time sat on the back board of the boat just relaxing.  We were so proud of her!

Saturday, my cousins and aunt and uncle came and spent the day with us on the lake.  It was great to catch up with them and we had lots of fun! Trey and Jordan went tubing and the water was REALLY rough so, they definitely got a ride of a lifetime! Meanwhile, Kiley was sleeping in the boat enjoying the cool breeze and catching up on her much needed nap.

Sitting in her lake chair while Zoe acts as her fill in vacuum.  Just in case Kiley accidently drops any cheerios, Zoe is right there to clean up!

Kiley got to drive the boat! Anything that has a wheel Kiley loves to be up front trying to steer it.

Trey and Jordan before the tubing ride began.

Trey before he almost lost it!

Kiley sleeping during all the tubing action.

"Kiley, where is your nose?" Right here Mommy! This is one of the things that we learned from the Baby Einstein videos.  We haven't quite gotten where our nose exactly is, but Mommy thinks it is soooo cute!

Posing for the camera.  We love to take pictures.

Jordan and Kiley.  Aunt Jo Jo is Kiley's best buddy! Jordan has been watching her during the summer days and Kiley loves to spend time with her.  I think it's because Jordan is a lot cooler than Mommy and lets her do whatever she wants! She looks like such a big girl sitting there on top of the boat...she is growing up so fast.

The next day my Grandma, Kiley's GiGi came for a visit and Grandma's friend came as well.  Kiley enjoyed showing everyone around and mostly walked, talked, and ate lots of food - as always!

Watching everyone out on the lake while she sits in her lake chair.

Today we went in the swimming pool in the morning where Kiley ate some more food yet again!

Eating cheerios and wearing her 4th of July swimming suit! I think she looks so pretty in red and it's Nanna's favorite color on her.

Before we left the lake Kiley took some 4th of July photos in her special red, white, and blue outfit.  I think she had a ton of fun this weekend! She was definitely tired from all the activities - she slept the 2 hour drive home.

Until next time, Happy 4th of July! Gig'em & God Bless!

Just Hanging Out!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!  It is hard to believe that this Father's Day was Jason and Kiley's 2nd Father's Day together! I was looking at the pictures of Kiley from her last Father's Day and boy does a year change a lot! One year ago she just layed there, being that she was only 1 month old and at that time she didn't give us an attitude if we put sunglasses on her! I would post a picture, but I don't have any pictures saved on this computer from birth to 6 months.

Father's Day was nice and relaxing though.  We spent it at my Nana and Papa's and were back after supper.  We decided that we would go for a walk and ended up stopping at Jason's Grandma and Grandpa's where Kiley showed off how great she can walk! She also demonstrated all day that she loves food.  At Nana and Papa's she got homemade banana ice cream (YUMMO!), 1/2 of a banana, 2 peach kolaches, and a sugar cookie - that also doesn't include her milk bottles and solids she gets regularly in her schedule, all of which she ate! Then when we got to Grandma and Grandpa's she finished her night bottle and had ice cream again to end the day! I'm thinking that she definitely LOVES sweets!

Taking control of the wheel!!

This week I took a lot of pictures of Kiley - most of which involve her eating something! If you are on facebook you probably have already seen these, but I thought I would still share.

Here we were at JW's and Kiley felt that she needed to feed herself.  Before the roll she had already eaten 3 cracker packages and her cheerios along with some of my corn.  Apparently, she was still hungry, because she ate the whole roll too!  Looks like someone is growing..

So Monday night I was combing Kiley's hair after a bath and decided to see if I could put her hair in a ponytail.  Sure enough, it worked! So on Tuesday Kiley sported her ponytail for the first time! She was so proud of it and Mommy kept telling her that she was sooo pretty! Now that Kiley's hair is growing I am starting to enjoy fixing her up everyday with a new hair style!

She loved me telling her that she was a pretty girl! I'm sure you noticed the cheerios on her tray.  I have learned that the only way I can get her hair looking pretty is by feeding her little tummy! She will let me do anything as long she has food!

This is a funny and yet scary picture that Daddy took of Kiley on Thursday! During the summer Alex and Jordan (my cousins) are watching Kiley and they have the magic touch to get her to take a nap during the day.  Why she will take a nap with them and not me is very confusing to me, but anyways, after one of her naps with Alex this is what she looked like! She is yawning in the picture, but she had a 2 hour nap that day so, she was well rested just not completely awake yet.

Today, Kiley and I hung out at the house and had some Mommy, daughter time.  Spending the day with her has really made me realize that she is becoming her own person and has such a loving and outgoing personality! She is always making me laugh and when you least expect it she will come and give you a huge hug and kiss.  Love her so much!

So instead of the ponytail today we tried pigtails! Daddy said that the pigtail look was his favorite! I agree.  She looks so cute and all grown up, but I'm still trying to figure out if that is a good thing or not.  We also tried marshmallows for the first time today and as you can see from the picture, they were a big hit! She even decided to save one for a later snack!

I quickly snapped this picture.  This was during one of those times where she unexpedetly walked up to me to give me a big hug! Miss Loveable!

So many things are going on for Kiley right now! She is walking everywhere, which makes her happy, because she is and always has been Miss Independent! She is also always talking - some things we understand and others we don't! Like I said, she loves food and whenever we eat out and our food comes out she gets soooo excited! The other day I got out her cheetos at the restaurant and she was so excited she couldn't stop pointing and saying "that!"  It was clear that she wanted her snack and by the time she calmed down she had said "that" about 8 times! Her "attitude" is also beginning to develop.  She hasn't said the word "no" yet -thank goodness, but we have learned the word "stop." The doggies love her cheerios and are constantly trying to get the fallen few from Kiley.  She in return looks at them, points her finger and tells them "Stop!." They don't listen, but it sure is cute!

Fourth of July is coming up next week and with that a lot of pictures! Until then though, Gig'em & God Bless!!

Our little bathing beauty!

This past weekend while at the lake, Mom and I went to Marble Falls to go check out the shops downtown.  Little did we know that we would find THE cutest little bikini ever! I couldn't contain myself and took a ton of shots with her in her new little outfit! Such a bathing beauty!

One of Kiley's new accomplishments that she has learned this past week from watching Baby Einstein, Peek-A-Boo.  We don't put our hands over our eyes, but on the side of the face - close enough for Mommy and baby!

Playing peek-a-boo with Nanna and still hanging out in her bathing suit!

Everytime a boat or jet ski would ride past the house she would wave or blow kisses like she is doing here.  I think I am mostly in love with this swimming suit because of the way it shows off her adorable baby belly! You don't even know that her belly is that round under her shirt...it's so cute though!

So, if you haven't noticed yet you will notice it here in this picture - Kiley fell numerous times this past weekend and she fell on her face everytime! For some reason she was so off balance and looked as if she was baby drunk all weekend! The first day she fell while trying to walk out on the patio and got a scab on her chin in return.  The next day she fell while walking around on the patio again.  She lost her balance and her face landed on the patio furniture base hitting her forehead, her lip, and having a slightly bloody nose.  So, by the time we got home it looked as if we abused our child.  Good thing that now we have our more stable baby back.

Later one evening, we went out on the water while it was calm and Jason and I gave water skiing a shot, again.  Kiley is beginning to really love and enjoy the boat rides now.  She loves seeing us out on the water and is constantly telling us hi! After several tries and trying to not get frustrated we both were able to get up and water ski for a little bit.  An awesome accomplishment and it was a great feeling to even see Kiley get excited for us!

Father's Day seems to be sneaking up on us quickly...this will be Daddy's 2nd Father's Day with his baby girl, but until then God Bless & Gig 'em!

And She's Off...

So, it has been a couple of weeks since I have written a post.  Since that time a lot of things of happened for Kiley.  First things first, we are walking now! I think it is the cutest thing I have ever seen her do.  I know last time I wrote a post I said she had taken a couple of steps in Maui.  Shortly after that, she had taken 16 steps and on May 28, while I was in Fredericksburg for Bethany's Bachelorette party I had received several texts from Jason saying that she wouldn't slow down and wanted to walk around everywhere! Of course Mommy missed the big day - I had a feeling that it would happen that way! It's pretty hilarious watching her walk.  She looks like a little chicken or duck.  Instead of putting her arms straight out for balance she bends them towards her stomach like they are her wings.  I started quacking one day while she was walking around and she thought that was the funniest thing - little did she know that I was talking about her! So, now that we have learned that we can walk, we also try to practice our new talent everywhere! And I do mean everywhere.  Don't put her in a shopping cart or carry her around a store - she is Miss Independent now and thinks that she has to show everyone that she can get around on her own.  Another thing we have picked up is taking everyone on what Mommy likes to call, "Kiley Tours."  During the Kiley Tour you must NOT let go of her finger or she has a fit and did I mention that the tours last a really long time and always at the most inconvenient times? But, we all go along with it because if Kiley is happy everyone is happy!

Nanna taking a Kiley Tour!

On May 24 I took Kiley to get her first haircut.  Her hair wasn't extremely long or anything, but it was definitely not even and I wanted to get it shaped up for Beth's wedding.  I was nervous about her staying still, but it turned out that I had nothing to worry about! She did great - the hairdresser gave her a lollipop for a great and clever distraction! Now 3 weeks later her hair has grown so much so quickly!

Before

After!

For Bethany's wedding December flew down again and stayed with us for a week.  We enjoyed our time with her, and no matter how long she stays it always seems to fly by!  On June 2 it was time for Kiley to go back to the doctor for a well check appointment and shots.  I wasn't sure how it would go this time since the last time she got shots she was only 6 months old.  She has definitely changed since then and has a lot more "attitude."  She weighed in at 19lbs, 15oz. and was 28 1/2" long.  I know she's a petite girl! The doctor said that she was in the 25 percentile for both, but had no concern because she is right on track with everything else! He said she was a healthy little one and looked great! She was a good girl and got 3 shots.  Mommy had to try to hold her down, but she only cried for a second and once I picked her up she was over it and back to the smiling little girl I know! Mommy was relieved for that day to be over!

June 4 was Bethany and Abel's wedding.  It went great and looked beautiful! Bethany was a gorgeous bride, of course.  We all had such a fun time and our so happy for them! We love you guys!

I finally remembered to put Kiley's DVD's in my car so, when she gets fussy I could just put a DVD in that would entertain her until we got home.  Well, last week I purchased the dance along Baby Einstein movie and I'm glad I did! Kiley has learned so much from it just from watching it 2 times! She now does Peek-A-Boo by putting her hands on the side of her face - not over her eyes, but the way she does it is cuter anyways! She gets so excited to see those little babies on that movie dancing and doing the things that she can do now! It is so cute to watch her shriek with such excitement! We can now blow kisses, which consists of her putting her hand over her mouth.  We love to throw the ball back and forth and she is starting to expand her vocabulary.

Every day our baby changes and learns something new - it's amazing to watch her! This week also marked Kiley's 13 month birthday..time really does fly! Until next time, Gig' em & God Bless!
